~Tribute to Doreen Hall~

Dear Members and Friends of AOSA and COC,

On Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Carl Orff Canada National Conference in Edmonton, Alberta, the first North American Alliance Award of Recognition will be presented to Doreen Hall of Toronto, Ontario. Doreen is to be honored for her unique and significant role in the establishment of Orff Schulwerk in North America. Many among us have been privileged to have been in her classes at the University of Toronto, and/or studied her first English edition of the original Schulwerk volumes by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. Doreen is the Founder and Honorary Patron of Carl Orff Canada, as well as an Honorary Member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. The North American Alliance Committee would like to invite members in both the USA and Canada to send personal letters of congratulations, greetings, memories and photographs for Doreen. These will then be compiled into a memory book and presented to Doreen at the ceremony on April 26. In order to allow sufficient time for assembling such a book, your contribution needs to be postmarked no later than April 1, 2008.
